Wikipedia was once a speck on the internet landscape, with just a few editors editing it’s content. It was first started in 2001, and has grown to encompass over 6 million articles and is far more expansive than the printed edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica, and yet it still isn’t taken more seriously. In fact, many site Wikipedia to be incorrect in many aspects, to where in some points, it remains outright fraud, yet some people, such as Professor Amy Bruckman, author of Should You Believe Wikipedia? argues it is “actually the most reliable form of information ever created”

Is this contention accurate, or is it simply petty to think that peer review is better than crowd sourcing information?

Is it time to take Wikipedia seriously and allow students the ability to use it as cited material?
