Apricot Double Chip Cake

What you will Need:

Measuring cups

A sharp kitchen knife for cutting

An implement for spreading

a nine inch square baking pan

a toothpick or a skewer

Paper towels

Ingredients:

2 cups of apricot preserves or jam

½ cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips, divided

½ cup of white chocolate chips, divided

1 package (about 15 ounces) of yellow cake mix

1 stick of butter, cut into thin slices

1 Third cup of water

Cooking Directions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Spray 9 inch square baking pan with non-stick cooking spray.

Spread the preserves in the prepared pan. Sprinkle with half of semi-sweet chips and half of white chips.

Top with cake mix, spreading evenly.

Top with butter in a single layer,

covering the cake mix as much as possible.

Drizzle the water over the top.

Sprinkle with the remaining semi-sweet and white chips.

Bake for 50 to 55 minutes,

or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

Cool at least 15 minutes before serving.

Makes 9 servings.
