👣 Co-hosted by Valerie and Amanda Joy (Down the Crooked Path)

In the summer of 1977, the brutal murder of 12-year-old shoeshine boy Emanuel Jaques sent shockwaves through Toronto and changed the face of Yonge Street forever. In this collaborative episode, Valerie and Amanda peel back the layers of the case—exploring the systemic failures, the exploitation of vulnerable children, and the lingering impact on a city that was forced to confront its darkest corners.

In our Current Case segment, we examine the modern-day trafficking of migrant workers in Canada—an uncomfortable truth still unfolding in rural communities and urban centers alike.

This is Canadian history, but not as it’s taught.
