037 No Other Foundation #4a — ‘Before the Indwelling — The Kind of Faith That Could Still Collapse’

Listen Later

Before Pentecost, there were moments of great faith — the centurion who said, “Just say the word,” the woman who wept at His feet, even Peter who walked on water. But all of them, no matter how sincere, still lived from faith that could collapse.

Alex unpacks the kind of faith that existed before the resurrection — sincere, even commendable — but still sourced in the self. This is the kind of faith that recognises Jesus but hasn’t yet been joined to His life.

We’ll unpack three anchoring truths:

1️⃣ The Centurion — Recognition of Authority Without Indwelling Life

2️⃣ The Woman — Love-Born Trust That Still Came from the Soul

3️⃣ Peter — Revelation, Zeal, and the Collapse of Human Faith

This is a call to see the difference between soul-faith and Spirit-born faith. The old man can only muster his best efforts — but the new man lives by the faith of the Son.

Ask Yourself:

  • Am I still trying to believe in Jesus — or have I seen that His faith now lives in me? → Have I confused emotional trust with spiritual union? → Am I still clinging to a sincere faith that collapses under pressure?
