In this unsettling installment of Canadian Creepies, we turn to Simcoe, Ontario, where the disappearance of 22-year-old Justin Evans in 2021 left a community shaken. Days of searching turned into weeks of questions, until his body was discovered and the story shifted from a missing-person case to something far darker.
Why was Justin targeted, and how did a small-town tragedy spiral into an unresolved mystery that continues to haunt those who knew him? Was it a crime of opportunity, a betrayal close to home, or something even harder to face?
Please note: in this episode, we mistakenly reference Muskoka as the location of the mobile home where Justin was living at the time of his death. The park’s name includes “Muskoka,” but it is in fact located in Simcoe. We will be issuing a correction and clarification in our next episode.
Join us as we retrace Justin’s final days, the investigation that followed, and the lingering grief of a community still searching for justice. Because sometimes the scariest part of a story isn’t what we know—it’s everything that remains unanswered.
