Kahlil Gibran was a Lebanese-American writer, poet, and artist. He was born in 1883 in Bsharri, a village in northern Lebanon. He wrote in both Arabic and English, and his works reflect his influences from various spiritual and philosophical traditions. He is best known for his book The Prophet.
