The journey of deliverance from an addiction (bondage) is no different from the journey of repentance. Repentance is no mean task. It is a fierce war against evil, with each stage of the war marked by its own unique battle, which must be fought and won, all the while looking steadfastly unto the Lord for strength.
In this series, “Breaking the Chains of Addiction”, Pastor Jeffrey Walter presents an eye-witness exposé on how to successfully journey from the bondage of addiction into permanent freedom. He draws lessons from his own journey and profoundly ministers the grace of God.
Pastor Jeffrey Walter, in this episode, “The War I - The Journey of Repentance”, sheds light on the process of deliverance from evil (bondage), and shows how strength and grace are released to the man (pilgrim or sojourner) who decides to embark on the journey of repentance. He explains how the stronghold of an addiction (evil) is broken, as the Lord breaks and remoulds the man in bondage.
“And when the strife is fierce, the warfare long,
steals on the ear the distant triumph song,
and hearts are brave again, and arms are strong”
Beloved, if you will remain steadfast and courageous on your journey of repentance, your Sabbath (victory and rest from your labours against evil) is assured. Rise up and wage war! A song of triumph awaits you.
