The time of battle is not the time to gather your armoury. You must therefore prepare for the evil day while it is day. The preparation involves striving lawfully, based on the external truths, so that we can enter spiritual truths. The first stage of preparation involves learning to fill up the gaps in your understanding. Secondly, you must make decisions as to your course of action prior to the evil day. The one who is undergoing preparation must appreciate their vulnerability, seeing they are not spiritual yet. Thus, you must stay clear of everything that nourishes the evil desires you are trying to fight.
