040: Making Decisions

Listen Later

Decisions are all around us.  Do we make the decisions we need to make as we need to make them allowing life to unfold or do charge ahead not fully aware of our needs and direction?  Consider taking a breath, softening, allowing space for imperfection.

“It only take a reminder to breathe, a moment to be still, and just like that, something in me settles, softens, makes space for imperfection.  The harsh voice of judgment drops to a whisper and I remember again that life isn’t a relay race; that we will all cross the finish line; that waking up to life is what we were born for.  As many times as I forget, catch myself charging forward without even knowing where I’m going, that many times I can make the choice to stop, to breathe, and be, and walk slowly into the mystery.”  Walk Slowly; Danna Faulds

Wise words:

@Authenticyogaidaho - “There are no good or bad decisions, only the consequence of them.”

-Chris (my friend and yoga instructor) “If you take care of the things that need to be taken care of, as they need taken care of, life unfolds as it should.”

- Andy - Engineer - help me understand “dither” in an engineering sense.

“It’s dark because you are trying too hard.  Lightly child, lightly.  Learn to do everything lightly.  Think lightly, act lightly, feel lightly.  Yes, feel lightly even though you’re feeling deeply.

Just lightly let things happen and lightly cope with them.  Lightly, lightly - it’s the best advice given to me.  Throw away your baggage and go forward.

There is quicksand all about you, sucking at your feet, trying to suck you down into fear and self-pity and despair.  That is why you must walk so lightly.”  Aldous Huxley, Island
