I wished and hoped through many years of my life.
Hope, as a strength. Hope can look like many things. A couple of examples:
1. Setting a long list of unachievable goals only to never take action and wonder when good things will happen
2. Positivity all the time without acknowledgement that crappy things happen in life and you work through them to get back to the good.
Hope is optimism; however, hope requires action. Hope alone will not bring you what you desire. Action with you hope produces results.
