The World Has Been a Mess
Briefly Explain The Fall of Man in Genesis 3 and free will.
Evil is real:
Richard Foster says, “God becomes a reality when he becomes a necessity.” Dark valleys make God more real to us.
The world is not how it was designed to be.
“No man knows how bad he is till he has tried very hard to be good.” C.S. Lewis
We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all. Isaiah 53:6
This is why human history is littered with violence, deceit, adultery, lies, greed, grabs at power
This is why our family tree has that in it
This is why you and I have that in us
The Bible says in Romans 3:10-11
“There is no one righteous, not even one; 11 there is no one who understands there is no one who seeks God.
We all follow something or someone… Yourself? Sheep gone astray.
The Lord Is MY Shepherd
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, Psalm 23:1-4
All of us will walk through valleys in our lives: What gets us through them is the Good Shepherd.
You can go at it alone… or with your friends, or family… But at some point,the valley of the shadow of Death will consume you. You will win…
When you have Jesus as your shepherd… You know he will lead you to green pastures.
He will lead you to still waters, he will restore your soul
MOST PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD ARE MORE CONCERNED WITH WHO THEY ARE RATHER THAN WHOSE THEY ARE… This is the most important decision
A Stable Life is Built on a Stable Foundation
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” Matthew 7:24-27
