Why use daily tools or do daily activities? 

Aristotle - “Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all.”

Epictetus - “There are certain things you can control and certain things you can not control, and you must know the difference.”

Serenity Prayer - “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”

Am I being “obedient” or “responsible”?

-Obedient looks like motivated by external factors, follow orders, may have difficulty seeing choices and options, finds it hard to decide, has difficulty expressing, personal needs, as a “you win, I lose” mentality.

-Responsible looks like motivated by internal factors, makes choices, typically more confident, self-worth is defined internally, understands “I am not my behaviors“, better, able to predict outcomes, cooperative.

Finish the sentence:

  • if I put 5% more effort on being present today…
  • If I pay more attention to how my body feels today….
  • If I noticed my impulse to avoid unpleasant feelings…,
  • If I live 5% more in alignment with my values and morals….
