On this week’s episode, Rhya Pachin is here to discuss gut health. Gut health has been a hot topic as more research is showing how it is the ultimate connector to all of our body’s functions. From our energy levels to hormone imbalances, poor gut health can be attributed to a lot of overall health issues. In this episode, Rhya is unpacking what gut health is, how it affects our overall health, and what we can do to start better supporting our gut health.
Through her own family’s health journey, Rhya developed a passion for integrative and functional nutrition. Since completing her Master’s degree in human nutrition, she has acquired additional functional medicine education and training which she uses daily in practice. Rhya is passionate about using functional nutrition principles to help people get to the root cause of symptoms and resolve stubborn health issues.
Rhya owns and operates her private practice, Carolina Functional Nutrition, in the Charlotte, NC area. Her primary areas of focus include: IBS, IBD, autoimmune disease, as well as food allergies and sensitivities.

Welcome to the Wake Up Call Podcast with Alicia Hopkins (that’s me!). I work in corporate sales by day and am a personal development guru and Life Coach by night. My goal in this podcast is to share valuable and actionable tips on what I call the “Core Four” - mindfulness, movement, habits, and growth - so you can build a life that feels true to you. I will be interviewing people who have had a “wake up call” that their good-on-paper life wasn’t lighting them up, and what they did to change that. Join us every week for a new episode of the Wake Up Call Podcast with Alicia Hopkins!
