The Church, in its full strength, embodies an equal union or marriage of Love (an affection for the truth we receive) and Wisdom (truth or an understanding of how life ought to be lived). Achieving this union requires living according to the truth we receive, through repentance. Therefore, truth must lead men to turn away from evil and repent from their old ways of life. Only then can they develop a sincere affection for the truth they have received.
Similarly, when working for God or sharing His truth, we must keep this principle in mind. Do you desire to be a “fisher of men”? If so, what does Jesus expect from you as you go out to preach?
This December 2024 End of Year Special Program presents a series on the Word of God. The importance and nature of the Word of God (scriptures) are explained. Teachings are presented on how doctrine and the scriptures can be understood and confirmed. Pastor Jeffrey Walter emphasizes the necessity of preaching the true gospel (repentance and the remission of sins) while highlighting the proper disposition required of "Fishers of Men", urging us to become laborers in the Lord’s harvest.
In the message Fishers of Men, Pastor Jeffrey Walter explains the concept of becoming 'fishers of men,' highlighting how we should preach and what Jesus expects from us when we go out to 'fish' for souls.” He emphasizes that the effort of preaching must focus on how people should live their lives, rather than on what to believe.
Men must live a life of daily repentance, by turning away from evil, and embrace a life of righteousness.
This message will challenge you to reconsider your approach to teaching the truth and sharing your faith, so you can bring in a great catch of 'many fishes' for God's kingdom.
