How to begin the Self Healing Journey ❤️🩹
- Get curious with your own mind - why are you the way you are?
- Look at your childhood - what happened & why. How did these events inform who you are & how you act today
- Develop Self awareness - of mind & body
- Never take anything at face value
- Know that everything is connected
- Listen to your body, & look out for signs - sickness/dis-ease: there is a reason you feel this way/are having these symptoms
- Know that healing is an ongoing process - there’s no such thing as being “fully healed”, you just learn gain more wisdom about yourself, tools to process & learn to understand your challenges better
- Don’t wait for your mental health to get bad before you seek help. Therapy is for everyone - stable & unstable
- Healing is non-linear - sometimes you go up, sometimes you go down, but you’re always progressing. The healing path is actually a spiral shape, that retraces the same themes, but from more elevated levels of consciousness & maturity.
MY FAVE TOOLS FOR SELF HEALING
- Journalling as often as possible - increases self awareness & creates a dialogue between your subconscious & conscious mind
- Yoga - good for releasing stored trauma, self regulation & mind/body balance
- Meditation - good for self awareness, emotional regulation & mental clarity
- Working with a coach/mentor/therapist/practitioner
- Time spent alone (preferably in nature) - to process life events & get to know yourself more intimately.
