守中章第五
天地不仁，以萬物為 芻狗；聖人不仁，以百姓為芻狗。天地之間，其猶 橐龠乎﹖虛而不屈，動而愈出。多言數窮，不如守中。

第五章：天地不仁，以万物为刍狗；圣人不仁，以百姓为刍狗。天地之间，其犹橐籥乎！虚而不屈，动而愈出。多言数穷，不如守中。

Dì wǔ zhāng: Tiāndì bùrén, yǐ wànwù wèi chú gǒu; shèngrén bùrén, yǐ bǎixìng wèi chú gǒu. Tiāndì zhī jiān, qí yóu tuó yuè hū! Xū ér bùqū, dòng ér yù chū. Duō yán shù qióng, bùrú shǒu zhōng.

5. Nature
Nature is not kind;
It treats all things impartially.
The Sage is not kind,
And treats all people impartially.

Nature is like a bellows,
Empty, yet never ceasing its supply.
The more it moves, the more it yields;
So the sage draws upon experience
And cannot be exhausted.

天地不理会世上所谓的仁义，在其看来，万物是祭神用的稻草狗。圣人也不理会世 上所谓的仁义，在他眼里，百姓是祭神用的稻草狗。
天地之间，不正像一个冶炼的风箱吗？虚静而不穷尽，越动而风越多。
话多有失，辞不达意，还是适可而止为妙。
