Do you know your value?
Sometimes, we tend to dim our light and play small just to fit in a situation. We fear losing on a deal for asking for what we are worth and end up settling for less than our value.
In this episode, I’d like us to talk about knowing your value. If there is one great favour you can do for yourself, it is sticking by your value. Sometimes you’ll miss out on opportunities because they offer less than your worth, and that is totally okay. Opportunities that fit your worth will come.
I know people who feel like I charge too much for my sessions. What they don’t value is the amount of energy and the amount of knowledge that they are paying for. They’re not just paying for that 30-minute session. They’re paying for the fact that I’ve had 11 years or 12 years in business, as well years of properly looking into laughter yoga and working out how to be the best laughter, Yogi.
One would want to argue that they can learn laughter yoga from other podcasts and YouTube channels, but I can tell you for free it is not the same. There is more to that. For instance, I spent years as a DJ, and I learnt how to read a crowd. I can tell when I’m losing my crowd, and I have the necessary knowledge on how to re-engage them. I did not learn this overnight. I have learnt over time.
It cost you money and time to be the person you are today. Always keep in mind, you are worth what you believe you are worth. If you believe you’re worth a certain amount of money, put a zero at the end and give it a go and see that people will value you for that.
