A sad day for the UK when the latest Prime Minister, Liz Truss, resigned after 44 days.  Her departure, after less than six weeks in office, came as virtually all of her signature tax cuts were being reversed.

A leadership contest is now underway to decide the next head of the ruling Conservative Party, who will by default become the next prime minister, and will conclude in the next week.
