056 - learn to work with your feelings, not run from them

This isn’t a generic “5 ways you can work through self limiting beliefs” podcast.

​Instead, I want you to pay attention this week to any unhelpful thought patterns that regularly pop up.

When you’re feeling frustrated, pissed off, impatient, angry, low etc, take a moment to tap in…

> What are you telling yourself?

> How does that make you feel?

​> Where do you feel it’s coming from?

And once you have an answer, sit with it.

​Don’t fight it.

​Don't beat yourself up.

​Don’t jump to some cliche personal development exercise to try and get past it.

​Just sit, be still, and accept it.

Too often, we rush to change our thoughts and feelings without truly acknowledging them.

​As if it’s some kind of weakness that must be smashed out the park, as far away as possible.

​But running away from feelings never solves anything.

​Usually only makes things worse.

​But once we start to acknowledge them, and accept how we’re feeling, well…

​I’ll let you spend some time with it and see what happens.
