In this episode, I talk about the need to create a healthy attachment to material things in order to preserve your well-being and mental health. We live in a culture that is deeply materialistic and we are conditioned to engage in consumerism as a means of achieving satisfaction, a feeling of "enoughness," and to supplement and/or define our identities. There is a lot that material goods can do for us, but just like anything, it is important that there be a balance. I discuss my personal experiences with material things and offer suggestions to shift your mindset so that you are the driver and consumerism is unable to abuse you.
