The Onze Lieve Vrouwe square is dominated by the robust medieval façade of the 'Onze Lieve Vrouwekerk' (the Church of Our Lady). From the fifth to the eighth century, bishops of Tongres and Maastricht had their seats in the Church of Our Lady.
