Our guest for today is the nutrition author and television author, Daphne Oz. Daphne has authored bestsellers like Relish and The Dorm Room Diet. She also co-hosted the popular ABC show, The Chew.
We start this show with Daphne sharing some of her background information. While her father was a traditional MD, her mother was a reiki healer. Because of this, Daphne reveals that her approach to nutrition and wellness is an interesting mix of eastern and western medicine.
Growing up, Daphne had her fair share of health challenges. When she was 17, she tipped the scale at 180 pounds. Not wanting to resort to an extreme diet that borderline on deprivation, she came up with more fun, more sustainable, and long-term approach. She documented these experiences in her first book, Dorm Room Diet.
Daphne’s recently-released book, Relish is a “Cookbook for life” that contains “happy and healthy” recipes.
