ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਾਬਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਹਸੀਨਾ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਕ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਅਵਾਮੀ ਲੀਗ ਦੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਹਮਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ। ਢਾਕਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਿਤ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਮੁਜੀਬੁਰ ਰਹਿਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਯਾਦਗਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨੁਕਸਾਨ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੰਧ-ਚਿੱਤਰ ਤਬਾਹ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਗਏ।
ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਅੱਜ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਵੀ ਕੁਝ ਇਮਾਰਤਾਂ ਢਾਹੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਅੰਤਰਿਮ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਿੰਸਾ ਛੱਡਕੇ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀਪੂਰਨ ਹੱਲ ਲੱਭਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ, ਸ਼ੇਖ ਮੁਜੀਬੁਰ ਰਹਿਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਢਾਕਾ ਸਥਿਤ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ ਤੇ ਭੰਨਤੋੜ ਤੇ ਅੱਗਜ਼ਨੀ ਦੀ ਘਟਨਾ ਵਾਪਰੀ, ਜਿਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮੁਜੀਬੁਰ ਰਹਿਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਬੇਟੀ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਹਸੀਨਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕਰ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ।
ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ’ਤੇ "ਬੁਲਡੋਜ਼ਰ ਜਲੂਸ" ਦੇ ਸੱਦੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਧਨਮੰਡੀ ਇਲਾਕੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਜ਼ਾਰਾਂ ਲੋਕ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਮੁਜੀਬੁਰ ਰਹਿਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਰੈਲੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਤੇ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਡੋਜ਼ਰ ਨਾਲ ਢਾਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਇਹ ਹਲਚਲ ਅੱਜ ਸਵੇਰ ਤੱਕ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹੀ।
ਹਾਨਜੀ ਰੇਡੀਓ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਮੁਤਾਬਕ, ਬੰਗਲਾਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਹਿੰਸਕ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਪ੍ਰਦਰਸ਼ਨਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਹਸੀਨਾ ਦੇ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਕਾਨ ਢਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੇ। ਖੁਲਨਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਹੇਲਾਲ ਉਦਦੀਨ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਸਲਾਉਦਦੀਨ ਜਵੈਲ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵੀ ਹਮਲਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਬਣੇ।

ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਰਾਤ ਸ਼ੇਖ ਹਸੀਨਾ ਦੇ ਮਰਹੂਮ ਪਤੀ ਵਾਜ਼ਿਦ ਮੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਰਿਹਾਇਸ਼ ‘ਸੁਧਾ ਸਦਨ’ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਅੱਗ ਲਗਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ। 5 ਅਗਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਹਸੀਨਾ ਦੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਸੱਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਬੇਦਖਲ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਇਹ ਇਮਾਰਤ ਖਾਲੀ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਸੀ।
In Bangladesh, protesters launched nighttime attacks on the homes of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s relatives and leaders of the Awami League. In Dhaka, the memorial of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was also targeted, with his wall murals being destroyed.
Reports indicate that the demolition of some buildings continued into the morning. The interim government of Bangladesh has urged people to end violence and seek peaceful solutions. Earlier, there was vandalism and arson at Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s Dhaka residence while his daughter, Sheikh Hasina, was addressing the public online.
Following social media calls for a “bulldozer rally,” thousands gathered in Dhanmondi and demolished Mujibur Rahman’s residence. The protests and destruction continued through the morning.
According to Haanji Radio, violent incidents were also reported from other parts of Bangladesh, where Sheikh Hasina’s relatives’ homes were attacked. In Khulna city, the residences of Sheikh Helal Uddin and Sheikh Salauddin Jewel were destroyed.
At Dhaka University, protesters removed the name of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall. Other local leaders’ houses were also targeted.
Reports confirm that late Wednesday night, the residence of Sheikh Hasina’s late husband, Wazed Miah, “Sudha Sadan,” was set on fire. Following the removal of Hasina’s government on August 5, this residence had remained vacant.
