07: Finding Confidence In Yourself and Your Body To Exercise When You Have Lost Confidence, Have No Time, Motivation Or Self Belief

Trigger Warning: In this episode I share more about a recent health scare that has put a few things into perspective. I do mention Cancer and Breast Cancer - thankfully I am all OK! Your health is absolutely your wealth and in this episode I really want to help you take control of it in relation to exercise and what IS possible for you. As always I include advice on how to keep building your inner voice and how to negotiate with yourself to feel as though you are winning regardless of where you, your body or your life is at so you can improve your confidence in your personal and professional life.

  • How big are you making the Mountain? What does it feel like at the top or on the other side
  • The concept of health and wellbeing - who and what are you comparing yourself to

  • Links between mental and physical confidence
  • Strategise - visual, auditory and kinaesthetic cues - Set yourself up for success
  • Self acceptance and drawing a line towards a NEW future, not trying to replicate an old past- How to manage the strong inner critic “you should be better/thinner/stronger” voice - this voice has helped you before. it is on your side
  • Naming what you want = gives you a goal, don’t be shy, be honest. If you want to lose or gain weight, say it
  • Don’t be afraid of discipline and reframing sacrifice
  • How do you want to wake up tomorrow?

    Identity - Who?

    Beliefs - Why?

    Capabilities - How?

    Behaviours - What?

    Environment - Where?


    Environment - eg I don’t have somewhere to train

    Behaviours - eg I avoid working out, procrastination, fill time with other things

    capabilities - don’t know what to do

    beliefs  -  what i can do isn’t enough, I am not good, don’t have enough time, can’t do what I think I should

    identities - Don’t see myself as someone who exercises, health issues have become an identity
