This week we learn about the world of mystery writing from Edgar Award Finalist, Ben Rehder. I grew up reading his book (which are definitely not kids books!). Ben writes two beloved mystery series in the Blanco County series about a Texas Game Warden and the wacky characters in the county getting themselves into quite the predicaments and also the Roy Ballard series which is a bit less wacky but still quite funny about an insurance investigator that gets involved in a lot more than insurance. In this chat he tells us about growing up in Texas, how get got started writing, how the world of getting a novel out there works, and tips for new writers.
