08: 5 Things to Do in Your Business Before the Year Ends

It's hard to believe that December is here. I love the holiday season, but I'm shocked it's here already. It's important to have things in the business in order, so that we can step away from work and enjoy this festive time of year. I want to feel truly present when I celebrate with my loved ones.

This episode is about ending anxiety about time off by preparing beforehand. I’m going to give you some clear tactical things that you can do to enjoy your business and the holiday season. These are the things that I do to ensure that the last 30 days of my year are very organized and well planned.

[03:45] Anxiety about having time off only exists when you haven't done the preparation to have the time off.
[05:12] The end of the year doesn't mean that we are shutting our businesses down. We can still make money and enjoy time off.
[06:34] 1. Bring your finances current. You want to start with a clean financial slate on January 1st.
[08:50] Right now is the most important time to bring things current. Things you can do include reconciling your expenses, sitting and reviewing your profit and loss statements in detail, and having needed money conversations.
[11:24] Plan, edit and, update your budget and spending as needed.
[12:16] 2. Plan time off and commit to that time off. This is critical for business owners. Put it on your calendar and commit fully.
[14:23] 3. Know what you're selling and create enough content ideas ahead of time to sell those offers. What are you selling? Pre-plan your content to sell those offers.
[16:04] Strike a balance between knowing when you're on and knowing when you're off. Have the available infrastructure to answer questions during that time.
[17:58] 4. Do a calendar review. Look at every single day of the entire month and know when and where you need to be and communicate boundaries to clients ahead of time.
[20:09] 5. Decide now on your mentorships and investments for 2023. Have a general idea who you want to learn from in the new year. Everybody needs mentorship.

Know what you're selling and create enough content ahead of time to sell those offers. 4. Do an in-depth calendar review and communicate early on. 5.
