Rick and Teresa discuss how nostalgia is holding you back from living your life at full potential in the four areas of the Money4Life focus: Faith Family Finances and Future. It is very hard to plan your best life, when you are living, and holding onto your past. Many people manifest the problems from their past into their futures. It is like walking through life in sludge at all times. You need to get serious about all the things in your life that need to go. Make a list of all the things that are collecting dust in your life and one by one, eliminate them. This method clears your mind and your physical spaces, and that gives you a new freedom. Rick recently made a list of 77 items and worked with a professional organization consultant to check off the list one by one. He threw out everything from old photos and journals, to employee files and broken office furniture. He eliminated 7 truck-loads of "garbage" and files from his office. Make a commitment now, to make a break from your past. Get an accountability partner to work with you on your list and then begin to hammer away. Nostalgia acts like an anchor, holding us tightly to our past and not letting us reinvent. You must believe that your future bigger than your past? When is the BEST time to start this? Yesterday! When is the 2nd best time? ...TODAY!
