讨价还价 haggle over the price

key words and expressions

① 老板 boss; 

     老板=店主 shopkeeper

     老板=摊主 street vendor

② 便宜 adj. inexpensive   opposite:  贵 expensive

              v. make it cheap ; to lower the price 

③ 一分价钱一分货

The higher the price, the better the quality of the merchandise.

④ 质量 quality

⑤ 凑个整=凑个整数 make it a round figure

⑥ 那 你 以后 可以 常来 我这儿。

    ( informal, more colloquial way )

   =欢迎以后常来。

   (formal) You are welcome to come back again. 

⑦ 以后 in the future 

⑧ 怎么 how; why; how come 

     怎么样 how about 

⑨ 是... ...的 to emphasize something happened in the past

In the wholesale market

广州的 夏天 真的 超级热。今天 我要 去 白马 服装 市场 买些 夏衣 穿。

In summer, Guangzhou is super hot. So today I’m going to the White horse clothing wholesale market to  buy some clothes that I could wear in summer .。

大卫: 老板，这件 衣服 多少钱？

老板: 二百七。

大卫: 270？怎么 这么贵？

老板: 一分 价钱 一分货。你看，这是 今天 新到的 款，质量 特别好。

大卫: 就 二百元了，凑个 整吧。

店主: 220， 再 便宜 50块！怎么样？

大卫: 就 二百吧，我 在别家 看过 更便宜的。你是 怎么 学 中文的？说得 这么好？

大卫: 我 就是 经常 跟 中国人 聊天 练习 汉语的。

老板: 那你 以后 可以 常来 我这儿，我 特别 爱 交朋友，爱 聊天。
