“New Year, New Me.” It’s a bit cliche; maybe a bit outdated; and it’s almost biblical. We are all becoming someone; whether who we are becoming is intentional or not cannot be left to wishful thinking or assumption. Our character arc over the course of a year is probably anything but “up and to the right” when left unattended. There’s definitely a “new me” as we step into 2024, but what if it’s not the “me” you wanted to be? Jesus cares deeply about who we are becoming, but He is not forcing formation, He’s inviting us into the process WITH Him.
