What if the goal was never perfection?
In this episode, I talk about giving ourselves grace while still choosing to show up. It's easy to focus on what we didn't accomplish, where we fell short, or the days when we weren't as consistent as we wanted to be. But sometimes we need to stop and recognize the progress God has already helped us make.
God isn't asking us to be perfect—He's asking us to be willing. And that willingness requires time with Him, submission to His direction, trust that He has our best interests at heart, and faith to believe what He's spoken even when we can't see the fruit yet.
You're not where you used to be. The small wins matter. Progress matters. So, celebrate what God is doing in you, keep showing up, and remember: the goal isn't perfection; it's continued growth and obedience.
We go to bed at night expecting to wake up the next morning. We set our alarms, make plans, schedule appointments, and prepare for tomorrow without spending all night worrying about whether tomorrow will actually come.
So why is it so difficult to trust God with everything else?
In this episode, LaMika talk about something that came to her while she was in the gym thinking about anxiety and the many things we worry about—money, relationships, our future, situations we can’t control, and things that haven’t even happened yet.
Philippians 4:6 tells us not to worry about anything, but instead to pray about everything. Yet so often, worry becomes our first response instead of prayer.
If you have enough faith to close your eyes tonight believing there will be a tomorrow, I want to challenge you with this question: Can you have that same faith in God with what you’re facing today?
Let’s talk about exchanging worry for prayer, trusting God with the unknown, and learning to have faith in Him one day at a time.
If you can trust God with tomorrow, you can trust Him with today.
In this episode, LaMika discusses the importance of breaking generational patterns by changing the way we see and respond to children. Drawing from her experience as a therapist and her own personal testimony, she challenges listeners to move beyond asking, "What's wrong with you?" and instead ask, "What happened to you?" LaMika explores how children often learn from the behaviors they observe, how labels can shape a child's identity, and why understanding the root of a child's behavior is just as important as correcting it. She also shares why parents should model humility, be willing to apologize when they're wrong, and intentionally raise their children according to God's Word rather than simply repeating what was passed down to them. This episode is a call to parents, caregivers, and anyone who influences children to become cycle breakers by leading with truth, grace, and compassion.
In this episode, LaMika discusses how the very things that come naturally to you may be the very gifts God wants to use for His glory. Too often, we overlook our God-given abilities because they feel ordinary to us, while others recognize them as something special. Through personal stories about starting a podcast despite not liking her voice, stepping outside of her comfort zone to create inspirational videos, and saying yes to public speaking even while battling fear, LaMika shares how God often calls us beyond our comfort zone to fulfill His purpose. This episode will encourage you to stop dismissing the gifts God has placed within you and begin stewarding them with confidence, knowing that what comes naturally to you may be exactly what someone else needs.
Have you ever noticed how quickly your mind starts negotiating the moment you're about to do something difficult?
In this episode, LaMika share a lesson God reminded her while in the gym after increasing the weight on one of her exercises. Her body wasn't giving up—but her mind immediately started trying to convince her to settle for less than she was capable of. That's when she realized this isn't just a fitness battle; it's a spiritual one.
How often does our mind try to negotiate with what God has already called us to do? It tells us we're not qualified, it's too hard, we should wait, or we'll fail. Before we ever take the first step of obedience, our thoughts begin talking us out of what God has already spoken.
We'll also look at Noah's example of obedience. He didn't build the ark because it made sense—he built it because God said so. Understanding came later. Obedience came first.
If you've ever wrestled with fear, self-doubt, overthinking, or hesitation, this episode will encourage you to recognize the difference between God's voice and the limiting thoughts trying to keep you from His purpose.
Key Takeaway: Don't let your mind talk you out of something God has already talked you into.

Sometimes God doesn't just speak through Scripture—He teaches us through everyday moments. Over the past few months, I've been noticing how God has been revealing lessons through my fitness journey, my work as a therapist, my faith, and even conversations with people around me. In this short episode, I want to share what's coming next for the podcast and why I'm excited to bring you along for the journey.

This episode is a reminder that sometimes all it takes is a whisper to God, because He already knows exactly what they need.
