This week Sally and Ann tackle their first HYROX station: the SkiErg. At first glance it looks like a simple machine — two handles, a flywheel, and a pulling motion. But within minutes, it demands full-body coordination, explosive power, and serious cardiovascular endurance.
The SkiErg mimics the double-pole movement of cross-country skiing. It starts with arms extended overhead and finishes with a powerful pull down toward the thighs, driven not just by the arms but also the core, lats, glutes, and legs. The challenge? Keeping technique smooth while the heart rate spikes and the arms feel like lead.
