  • S3:EP08: "Do you make your clients cry?"

Share your thoughts about this episode

I begin every coaching session with two secret beliefs:

    1. You are far more powerful than you know. Especially if you've already accomplished things that impress most people.
    2. Tears are a release of emotion. And if I can create a safe enough space, my clients will cry when they share things with me they never shared with another living soul.

I begin this coaching session with one of my favorite coaching questions: “What would make this an extraordinary conversation?”

Kristen's reply was intellectually engaging but I couldn't feel her. So, I know we need to dive deep...

Like all my clients, Kristen is a top performer with a track record of success. She’s a retired television executive who founded a non-profit that has brought clean water to over 100,000 people in developing countries.

And as I dive in, Kristen shares things with me that she’s never shared before. In fact, she’s moved to tears. She leaves the conversation with an insight that will make a massive impact in her life and in the lives of her clients.

As you listen to the conversation, pay attention to two things:

    1. The moments of insight on my client's side.
    2. The moments on my side where I choose when to dive deep. What do you notice about what I see, hear or feel that give me clues in which direction to go?

Please share your insights with me.

And let me know where you are more powerful than you know...

However, Rich doesn’t like the word funnel, especially for a rebel like Shelley. So, he helps her to create a rebellious program by putting a thousand-dollar cheeseburger on her menu. Don’t know what that means? Well, Rich is going to tell you all about it! If you are crafting out a business and want to know what to put out as opportunities for people to work with you then this is really fun!
