There are some things we can learn about having the right heart and mind in order to further God's plan and not become a stumbling block. You really only have three options: Lead, follow, or get out of the way. 1 Kings gives us some practical advice to succeed, even though we don't have the wisdom of Solomon, in spite of our deceitful and sick hearts. 

Young people, Solomon's life sets a bar for us to evaluate not only his reign and influence, but also the rest of the kings described in the book, as well as our own life. I believe this is revealed in the three appearances of the Lord to Solomon. This is what we will cover today. Look and learn from Solomon as his attitude changed and make sure you don't make the same mistakes with your life.
