She is best known for her work in television as DiDi Bannister-Stoner on ABC's The Edge of Night from 1981 until the show's cancellation in 1984. Later, she appeared on the CBS show Guiding Light. She also had regular roles on the CBS sitcom The Royal Family, as the daughter of Redd Foxx and Della Reese, and the HBO series 1st & Ten, as the wife of O.J. Simpson's character.

Aalda also achieved notoriety recurring on the CBS sitcom, Designing Women, as Anthony's yuppie-from-hell girlfriend, Lita Ford, and on the NBC soap opera Sunset Beach as the tragically disfigured Lena Hart. Additionally, she co-hosted the lifestyle show Designs for Living on the USA Network and was a reporter for the magazine show NOW! on WNBC in New York. Her numerous guest-star roles are mostly sitcom.

Aalda has also appeared in movies, co-starring in the urban cult film Class Act as rapper Kid's clueless mom, and as Coach Harrison in Nobody's Perfect. Brown was born as Farah Brown in Newport News, Virginia.[1][2] She attended and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University. She also has a Master of Science degree from The University of Phoenix in Secondary Education.[3] Brown has performed in many different comedy stage shows including BET's ComicViewand One Mic Stand and Showtime at the Apollo.[2] She later began appearing on television, playing guest starring roles on ER and Breaking Bad.

In 2011, Brown was cast in the Oprah Winfrey Network comedy series Tyler Perry's For Better or Worse playing the role of Jennifer, Tasha Smith's character best friend.[2] The series ran for six seasons. In 2014, she played the leading role alongside Nia Long, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Zulay Henao and Amy Smart in the comedy-drama film The Single Moms Club. She received positive reviews for her performance,[4][5] then the film has received negative reviews from critics. The following year, she appeared in an supporting role in a comedy film Ted 2.[6][7]

In 2016, Brown played the role of juror Jeanette "Queen B" Harris in the FX drama series The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story produced by Ryan Murphy.[8] In 2018, she worked again with Ryan Murphy, playing the recurring role of Carla Price opposite Connie Britton and Mariette Hartley in the Fox drama series 9-1-1.

T.Y. Martin, playwright, producer, director, and actor, has written and directed over 50 stage plays in sixteen short years. Relentlessly working in the entertainment industry, Martin has the uncanny and tireless ability to write scripts, cast actors, direct, and obtain sponsorship.

Martin continues to sell out performances.  Recently, he sold out two performances, including an encore performance of his hit production, “Slavery to Freedom.”  In addition, he has also sold out the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, GA with his blockbuster plays "The Hem of His Garment" and "The Biblical Principle" multiples times.

Originally trained in fashion merchandising in Chicago, Illinois, Martin first took to the stage in 1993. He was on tour in the USA for eight years as a stand-up comedian, opening shows for the O’Jays, the Whispers, Mary J Blige, Kirk Franklin,

Steve Harvey, and many others.

Martin made the transition from comedy to acting in 1996, when he toured with the professional production company, “Marvelous Entertainment.” This afforded him the opportunity to work with Margaret Avery, of the movie, “The Color Purple,” and led to roles in the plays, “God Don’t Like Ugly,” “Just Be a Man about It,” and others. Martin was featured in the 2005 New York Film Festival, in a documentary called “If You Love Me Why Do You Cheat?” which details the behind the scenes world of staging his play of the same name.

In addition to his work on the stage, Martin has easily delved into film and TV, with minor roles in major movies. Martin has taught drama to at-risk children in Cleveland, Ohio, and is currently teaching acting classes in metro Atlanta. The mission of T.Y.
