This week we begin a new series. Peter was not only one of the 12 disciples personally called by Jesus, he was also a part of the inner circle of 3 (along with James and John). Peter enjoyed an intimacy and a fellowship with Jesus that not many others did. Peter begins this letter by stating his position an apostle of Jesus Christ and also stating who he is writing to. And who Peter is writing to has a lot to do with what he's about to write to them.
