We are called to always respect God and live in a way that manifests the fear of the Lord before him. And this is important, because if we're going to hear from God and serve God and be found faithful before God, we need to demonstrate a reverence for him in everything that we do. And we're going to see that the Philistines and the Israelites did not demonstrate this proper reverence for the Lord, and because of that, on the day that the Philistines returned the ark of the Lord to Israel, we see that it turned into a day of judgment.
