It is important that we know the biblical God. And for some reason today, people believe that there is a difference between the God of the Old Testament and the God of the New Testament. And that is simply false. When we look at Scripture, we see that our God, it says in the Book of Exodus that he is a man of war. Now the word man is also related to personality, and what the scripture is telling us is that God's personality is that he makes war. Why would that be?

A very important doctrine clearly found in the scripture has to do with the divinity of Messiah. Now, the Bible reveals that you show him a ship and of course, I'm speaking about Jesus of Nazareth, that he is fully man, and he is fully God. We all want God to work in our life. We want him to move in our situations. And in order to ensure that God is going to be responsive to our prayers, we need to consider ourselves as his slave. Now in the Scripture, there is a word. Many times we find that Bibles translate this word as a servant, but when we get to the heart of that word, it means a slave, someone who is absolutely in bondage to another. And the point that we need to see concerning our identity in the Messiah is that we become slaves of God.

Resurrection is a very important concept. In the Scripture, the Bible speaks frequently of the resurrection of the dead. And what you and I need to understand is this. Every time that the Bible speaks of the resurrection, it gives that passage of Scripture, a specific context. And what is that contexts the kingdom of God, meaning simply, there is an inherent relationship between resurrection and the kingdom of God.
