About 30,000 women a year, according to the most recent research, experience birth trauma in the UK.

This episode will explore birth trauma, its impact on women and their families, and how practitioners can reduce the risk of trauma and support affected women.

With Rachael McGrath, Volunteer Manager, Birth Trauma Association and Dr Maeve O’Connell, Senior Lecturer, Cardiff University.

The Birth Trauma Association (BTA) are a charity that supports women who suffer birth trauma – a shorthand term for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after birth.
