The first thing most of us think about doing when it comes to progressive overload is adding more weight to the bar.
BUT…what happens when increasing the weight is not an option? Maybe the next weight up is too heavy; maybe you’re training from home and only have access to light dumbbells and resistance bands; perhaps you’re managing an injury and aren’t ready to progress the weight; or maybe you’ve been stuck on the same weight for the same number of reps for the last few weeks with no progress in sight.
This episode looks at six other approaches you can take to implement progressive overload into your workouts without needing to increase the weight. Done properly, they are JUST as effective at progressing your training!
