10. Tell Your Story with Confidence

Listen Later

When it comes to telling your story -- my story -- there must be a reason we're telling it that will move people in a positive direction. Speaking on stage is much more than simply hearing ourselves speak. That's selfish and that's not why Jesus is calling us to speak. He wants us to tell others who it was that helped us get through (Jesus) and how we continue to navigate through. There has to be a point to our story. Les Brown says never tell a story without making a point and never make a point without telling a story.

So, why are you speaking? Know your why and lead with that. You will touch many people and that's what speaking is about.
