Michael Anderson has been Professor of Trumpet at the Wanda L. Bass School of Music at Oklahoma City University since 2004. He is a member of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, The Norman Philharmonic, The OCU Faculty Brass Quintet and the Lyric Theater Orchestra. He is he proprietor of Performing Arts Photography. He is an active freelance trumpeter, and has played for countless national tours; recording sessions; and jazz, orchestra and chamber music events.
Anderson is a member of the International Trumpet Guild Board of Directors, Executive Director of the Guild’s web site since its inception, and head photographer at the annual ITG Conferences. He has presented and performed at several ITG Conferences.
Anderson founded and administrates the Trumpet Players’ International Network (TPIN), the oldest and most active Internet discussion list dedicated to the trumpet.
His degrees are from Illinois State University (BM - 1981), and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (MM - 1983). Primary teachers have been Dennis Schneider, Herbert Koerselman, and Arnold Jacobs.
