This is where the fun begins. Somehow this ended up going from one to two hours, but we loved every second of the conversation as we dove headfirst into ranking these from the original to the controversial Episode IX. You might be surprised by the end results! We conclude by talking about whether or not Star Wars has a future under Disney.

At long last, we have finally had the chance to sit down with one of the directors of our 100 films! (#64- Metropolitan) Whit is an acclaimed filmmaker and writer who wrote and directed the “Yuppie Trilogy” consisting of “Metropolitan”, which scored him an Oscar nomination, “Barcelona” and “Last Days of Disco”, and more recently “Damsels in Distress” and “Love & Friendship”. We’re so thrilled he was able to take some time out of his day to talk with us!

On this episode, Joe and Sam interview Brian Shields, the founder of Lumen Entertainment and a producer on Leonardo Defilippis’ 'Thérèse' (2004). In the episode, he talks about how the Eucharist inspired a renewal of his Faith, how he almost ended up on 'Dawson’s Creek', and what inspired him to found a Catholic entertainment company. He also talks about the Film Camp he started for young adults in his home state of Florida, which has produced several alumni including Isaac Buono who we interviewed! We hope you have as much fun listening to our conversation as we did in chatting with him, and we definitely hope to have him on again in the future.

We are very excited to bring you this special episode with none other than veteran animator Tony Bancroft! Tony has brought to life some of Disney’s most beloved characters, from Cogsworth to Iago to Pumbaa, and he was the youngest director ever at the studio when he co-directed 1998’s “Mulan”. We had a great time talking with him, especially about his upcoming film, “Light of the World”.

We finally have our first filmmaker guest! Avery Kroll is an animator currently working with Tom and Tony Bancroft (Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Mulan) on a very personal project for her, the 2D animated short “The Piano” (currently in production). She talks about how she got the attention of two former Disney animators with her initial idea, the state of the animation industry, and how weird it is to sit in on a lecture from Veggietales co-creator Mike Nawrocki and hear him break into his “Larry the Cucumber” voice. This is a very special episode, and we are so very grateful to Avery for being down to talk with us!
