Bryan Fischer here with today’s Life and Liberty Minute. Abraham Lincoln declared at Gettysburg that America is a “nation conceived in liberty.” It’s part of our DNA as a people. The Founders believed that “where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” The lockdown orders that keep churches from meeting are unbiblical and un-American. The Scriptures command us in Hebrews “not to forsake the assembling of yourselves together.” You can’t do that online. One thousand pastors in California have pledged they will declare independence from the tyrannical edicts of men and resume meeting with their congregations and with the Lord on May 31. The First Amendment guarantees to us the “free exercise of religion,” not just freedom of belief. No governor can take away a right that is granted to us in the Constitution. May their tribe increase.
