Heezer are a 4-piece Finnish grungy stoner rock band hailing from Imatra, a small city located close to the Russian border. Forming in 2020 they released their debut EP a year later and their first album in 2023. Their second album “Stereolith” has just been unleashed on the world and it’s really good!

Brighton-based six-piece art-rock band Not Richard & Her Majesty started as the solo outlet for much travelled musician Richard Fownes. Having taken some time out to recover from mental health issues, he began writing songs about his identity and struggles and in 2025 the band was unleashed on the world via their debut EP “Not Hot”. Mad Kitten are a noise punk band based in Strasbourg. With only two singles released so far, they are relative newcomers to the scene, but their music sounds like they’ve been doing this and it’s really good stuff. You’d be forgiven for not knowing who British proto-punk band Bastard are (or were). For a brief time Brian James (later of The Damned), Alan Ward and Nobby Goff (later both forming Elton Motello) and Dez Lover were the UK’s answer to The Stooges and MC5. Loud, aggressive and in-your-face, the band were known for playing biker bars in the UK and Belgium. More than 50 years have passed and we finally have a single from the band, the wonderful “Doctor Gong”, released last month on Wap Shoo Wap Records.

Where do I start with a legendary band like Strawberry Alarm Clock?! Formed in California 60 years ago and their first single "Incense and Peppermints" reached number 1 on the US charts. During the late 1960’s they toured with Beach Boys and Buffalo Springfield and have played alongside many other well known bands at various stages in the bands’ history. They are about to release their first album of all-new material in nearly 60 years and they still have most of the original members in place…

Bureau De Change - despite the name - are a Bristol based post punk 4-piece fronted by former Lambrini Girls singer Flora Kimberley. Playing politically charged, fiercely feminist music, they recently signed to Alcopop! Records and released their first single on the label, “The Gammons Lament” which is due to be followed by their debut album during 2027.

Legs On Wheels are a five-piece progressive and art-rock band based in Manchester, England. Starting as a "bedroom project" by Danny Murgatroyd in 2017, two years later it became a fully formed band two years later. The second album “Goble” came out at the end of March, and although a little late to the party when I heard it I instantly got dragged back into my love for slightly off-centre prog Canterbury scene style.
