100Talk - 100 Thieves Podcast

Weird loss against Dignitas, right? Another Friday night misstep from the Thieves ignited a debate about whether 100T is “experimenting” with different picks and strategies or whether we just don’t focus enough on “easier” competition. Cole and Jordan tell the 100Talkers where they stand on these and other important issues, such as:  -Since it’s obvious a 100T player should win MVP, which one will it be? -Why can’t TL touch us this split? -Why was Closer vibing in the baron pit while the rest of the team was losing a teamfight to FLY? Plus, we talk about the 100T x Gucci backpack, why fans shouldn’t complain about the price, and what it means for 100T and gaming brands as a whole. NEW RECORD FOR LONGEST EPISODE WE’VE DONE, GET IN HERE NOW! Listen here. Despite looking mortal for really the first weekend this split, 100T is able to crush hardstuck 2nd TSM in a convincing win and look on form while doing it. The losses to resurrected Golden Guardians and surging Evil Geniuses? Those left some questions, like was it really just a bad week of practice or are there some cracks in the foundation of the squad?. The dads weigh in on those questions and give their takes on how confident fans should be in 100T as we head into the last round robin of the LCS year. Plus, as always, they field listener takes and questions and officially name the “Potential Bad Takes” segment. And don’t forget a short segment on the meaning of the recently-announced 100T x Gucci collab on the way next week.   Listen here. ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ FOLLOW THE 100TALK DADS: Twitter ► https://twitter.com/100talkpodTwitch ► https://www.twitch.tv/100talkpodDiscord ► https://discord.gg/tUqupX9▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ SUBSCRIBE TO 100TALK: Spotify ► https://open.spotify.com/show/5DwGKIOuNZouvF7N4TyPor?si=A4pSbfvmR3qpIBtAzJLKxgiTunes ► https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/100talk-100-thieves-podcast/id1403240691?mt=2▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ OUR EQUIPMENT: Mic ► https://amzn.to/32x5lpCPreamp ► https://amzn.to/3eY0MK8Interface ► https://amzn.to/2Ul2JH4Mic boom stand ► https://amzn.to/2IwgjExCamera ► https://amzn.to/3nfkaoHLens ► https://amzn.to/3nfkfsvCapture Card ► https://amzn.to/3koC5YnLights ► https://amzn.to/3ngR2h2  ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

This weekend was a celebration of greatness - that’s right, another 3-0 weekend for the Thieves. 100T officially became the first team NOT named C9, TL, or TSM to hold sole possession of first place since Optic in 2019 (757 days). With the Thieves now a fully-established LCS favorite, both fans and the League community at large are putting the team under a microscope to magnify every flaw there is. We’ve reached it, y’all: the nitpicking phase. The dads come together to remind everyone that making mountains out of molehills is only natural when it comes to analyzing the favorite. They discuss which flaws may be indicative of a larger problem (spoiler alert: basically none) and make the case for this being a very good and complete team.   As usual, they also tackle a bevvy of listener takes and questions and make predictions for this weekend with Prophet Cole looking to take his undefeated summer split streak into week 6. 100Talk got everything we wanted for our 3rd podcast birthday: A banger Rec League, lots of fan content, gifted subs, and another 3-0 week from 100 Thieves. This LCS team is turning heads and making everyone take notice (Upcomer especially, amirite???). With 100T Finally being considered the top LCS contender, Jordan and Cole delight in the amazing position the team is in. Though the early game still needs to be shored up, the squad is lawnmowering through the rest of the field. The dads take this opportunity to discuss whether an LCS title or a reasonable performance at Worlds would mean more, debate which roster moves Reapered could be hinting at making and what their significance would be, and monologue about what it has meant for this team to hit its stride in such a quick time. Plus - some bonus conversation about 100T’s new Foundations apparel line of always available clothing for fans. There’s never been a better time to be a fan of 100T.  Listen here. 100T turns in a PERFECT 2-0 weekend in the LCS and the dads come together to bask in the glory of crushing the LCS contender hydra’s final head. They also have to address that CLG game, which, yeah, whatever. Despite dropping one to the perma-CC comp, Jordan and Cole are super high on this 100 Thieves team, and there’s good reason to be. The impact of Reapered continues to be a major factor, and it’s looking like an impossible task for LCS teams to take down 100 Thieves in a best of 5. All of this and more in this week’s 100Talk.  Listen here. Just read the title. That’s the description.  The dads come together to sing praises on an absolutely stunning week of League of Legends played by 100 Thieves. Among the names praised: Reapered, Abbedagge, Ssumday, Huhi, FBI, Closer...because literally everyone played so well this weekend. Jordan and Cole debate whether there are any weaknesses to this team and wonder just how long this party will last (spoiler alert: Worlds Finals), as well as field a large number of listener takes and comments. It’s a very VERY good time to be a fan of 100T LCS, so spend some time with us. After months of buildup, 100T fans got exactly what they wanted for week 1 of Summer LCS - Abbedagge on Karma. Three times. Okay, maybe it wasn’t what we were picturing, but after GAing the first game from the record books, this 100T squad has sprinted out of the gates with a couple of dominant wins against quality teams. With things looking promising early, Jordan and Cole break down what excites them about the (admittedly) small sample size of games from this weekend and why they believe this year might be different for 100 Thieves. LCS returns this week and the new-look 100 Thieves aims for Worlds. For once, we have the pieces to do it. Cole and Jordan have a preseason pow wow to talk about which storylines they have their eyes on for this split, a very revealing and exciting interview from new 100T coach Reapered, and realistic expectations for a team that has a TON of potential. Plus, the dads field some listener takes and make predictions for week 1 of Summer 2021. The strange new feeling you’re feeling is hope, 100T fans. Let’s talk about it. Listen here. In a very disappointing turn of events, 100 Thieves' Valorant squad gets eliminated from VCT Stage 2 and falls short of qualifying for the championship in Iceland. Jordan and Cole attempt to be the grown up voice of reason in the room, discussing just how close the matches were, but also struggle with the child inside who wants to cry. Along the way, Jordan makes Cole role play as GM of this 100T squad in making a plan to bounce back for Stage 3, and the dads field another incendiary take from the community.
