This morning we discuss the apparent discrepancy in the text of the Ten Commandments from this week's Parsha, V'Etchanan, to the earlier account in Parshat Yitro. We develop two themes or layers of Shabbat reflected in the two different words used, and relate this to two prayers said every Friday night - Bameh Madlikin and K'Gavna. We explore the implications of Rabbi Yehuda Amital's unprecedented (I think) establishment in his Yeshiva to say both. And we emphasize the need for all Jews to focus on both these layers in order to sanctify Shabbat.
