This morning we discuss the two prayers during the year when we (some of us) bow on our knees - for Aleinu on Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, and the Avodah on Yom Kippur. We discuss the general Jewish antipathy towards bowing, and highlight the spiritual and emotional experience of these two prayers. Bowing for these two prayers can deepen our prayer experience beyond what we ever imagined.
