This morning we discuss Rabbi Yehuda Amital's conception of Enoshiut (humanity), as a core component of Kedushah (holiness). We trace R. Amital's explanation of the laws that prohibit a Kohein from entering a cemetery, except for the burial, God forbid, of an immediate family member. And we share a moving story of how a simple farmer, crying to Rebbe Yisroel about his cow, attained a higher level of holiness that being immersed in Shir HaShirim (Song of Songs).

Michael Whitman is the senior rabbi of ADATH Congregation in Hampstead, Quebec, and an adjunct professor at McGill University Faculty of Law.
