This morning we discuss the apparently odd choice to read Kohelet (Ecclesiastes) this Shabbat, whose dark insights would seem to dampen the mood of this holiday which we call Zman Simchateinu, the time of our rejoicing. We explore the approach of Rabbi Jonathan Sacks, that Kohelet asks the question every one of us lives with, and provides the answer, which is Sukkot. We quote Ernest Becker, "The Denial of Death" and tell a wonderful fable about an angel's tears.
