This morning we explore why Chana's prayer for a child, which we read as the Haftora (prophetic passage) this Shabbat, first day of Rosh Hashana, is the paradigm for all prayers, that we must imitate and re-enact every time we pray. We analyze the approach of the Rav, Rabbi Yosef Soloveitchik, starting with a small but unexpected word, which leads us to understand what is unique about this prayer, and why/how we use it to inspire every prayer we pray.
